Dynamics of Galaxies
For a while I worked on using dynamical models to place constraints
on the dark matter distribution in galaxies. More recently I have
focused in on the Solar neighborhood with the goal of
using large stellar surveys to unravel structure in the Galaxy.
Ivan's recent work in this area has advanced the field
into an era of high precision Galactic structural measurements.
Recently I joined a collaboration with the RIT folk studying star
formation and activity in brightest cluster galaxies.
This talk is from 2005 and so somewhat out of date (it doesn't include Ivan's exciting work) (PPT)

I have used high angular resolution observations to search
for and probe sources associated with accretion onto a massive

have focused on the ways that these sources affect their nearby environment.
