The average on Test #1, 35/50, was very typical.  Based on previous
classes, I can estimate letter grades for various numbers.  The
letter scores assume your performance on the rest of the class
(i.e. 15% for homework, 25% for Test 2, and 35% for the final) are
the same for Test 1, which accounts for 25% of the course grade.

If you have done poorly on Test 1, I do look for improvement in the class.  If
your final score significantly (by at least 20%) exceeds what you did on Test
1, I will increase your grade by 1 unit (i.e. from B+ to A-, etc.)
